No. It is a wired doorbell powered from 12 to 24 V DC or 16 to 24 V AC. The built-in 600 mAh battery only heats the doorbell in cold weather and keeps it running for short power cuts.
Yes. The BellKit in the box connects it to a wired chime. With a chime connected it needs a stronger supply: 12 to 24 V DC at 3 A or more, or 16 to 24 V AC at 10 VA or more. We check your existing transformer before installing.
