voltage. Only touch battery leads.
The “Ghost in
the Machine”: Why it’s going off
Bosch systems like the Solution 6000 are built
with “Last State Memory.” After a power surge or outage, many boards are programmed to
Auto-Arm upon reboot. By default, Bosch does not store your PIN in a central registry;
codes are stored locally on the board vault.
02. The Granular Shutdown Process

01
Locate the “Brain” Enclosure
The keypad you see on the wall is just a remote control. To silence the system for good, you must
find the Main Control Panel:
— A large metal
cabinet (usually beige or white) about the size of a pizza box.
- 📍
Linen
Cupboards: Check the very top shelf behind towels. - 📍
Master
Wardrobe: Often hidden behind hangers or in walk-in robes. - 📍
The
Garage: Usually mounted near the electrical switchboard. - 📍
Under
Stairs: A common spot in multi-story Melbourne townhouses.
Tip:
If you can’t find it inside, check your hallway
service riser or the laundry cupboard near the ceiling.

02
Disable AC Mains Power
Before opening the box, you must kill
the primary power source. Look for a plug pack (transformer) plugged into a nearby power point.
⚠️ What to look for:
- Switch off the GPO: If there is a power point, flick the switch.
- Unplug the Lead: If it’s a direct plug, pull it out completely.
- The “Silence” Myth: Switching this off will NOT stop the alarm. The 7Ah
Lead-Acid battery inside will take over instantly. This is just to make Step 03 safe for
you.

03 & 04
Disconnect Lead & Silence
Unscrew the cabinet lid and pull the
**Red or Black lead** off the battery terminal. Silence will fall immediately.
Silence has been restored. You are now ready to view
our recovery resources.
03. What NOT To Do (Avoid Costly Mistakes)
Do NOT Cut Keypad
Wires
This results in expensive repairs ($200+) and
will not stop the roof siren. The system will continue to scream from the battery
backup.
Do NOT Touch the
Green Board
Static electricity can instantly fry the CPU.
Only touch the insulated battery leads when performing a hard shutdown.

🔐 Critical: Locked Out?
If you’ve lost your master code, you cannot fix it from the
keypad. A **Hardware Reset** procedure is required inside the metal cabinet to return the panel to
factory settings. We’ve performed thousands of resets across Camberwell and
Bentleigh for residents who’ve just moved in.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why is my keypad
beeping every 60 seconds?
This indicates a “System Fault,” most commonly a
dead backup battery or AC power loss. Check for a triangle symbol and press [*] [4]
to view the fault zone.
Is it legal for my
alarm to ring forever in Melbourne?
EPA Victoria regulations state alarms should cut
off after 10-20 minutes. Continuous ringing can lead to noise complaints to local councils or
Victoria Police.
What if I can’t find
the metal cabinet?
Installers often hide them in crawl spaces or
behind high closet shelves. If you’re in an apartment, check the service riser in the hallway or the
laundry cupboard.
